Thanks for stopping by.
Really. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
You’ve found something different. Something unique. Something new and original in a world saturated with clones and copycats shrouded in spiel and buzzwords. At Monarch Pedals we’re bringing something fresh to the landscape from way down here in New Zealand.
Our story starts the usual way: It’s 2009. A wah pedal breaks. Damn. Fixing it myself feels like stepping into some clandestine occult mystery where secret knowledge is only handed out to a select few. Screw that, let’s open up the back. See what’s going on. If it’s already broken then it can’t get worse. How hard can it be?
That was then, learning to fix a busted wah the hard way. Then I began modifying my pedals, circuit bending a DS1 here, a SD1 there, getting blisters on my fingers. But, it was always fun and that’s the point isn’t it? Like stepping into a whole new continent. That’s how Monarch Pedals came to be.
After some R&D, trial and error, playtesting, road-testing, listening to player feedback and making some refinements, we produced our own circuits that became the foundation on which Monarch Pedals was built. That original one-knob Fuzzboy from 2010 still exists on a shelf in the workshop and it still sounds rad (looks like hell, though), as rudimentary as it was.
You’ve probably seen that we’re in New Zealand. We’re based in a workshop near the centre of Auckland, NZ’s biggest city of 1.8m people. Our little space looks out at Maungawhau/Mt Eden and we can just about make out the SkyTower through a copse of trees where the lorikeets like to roost. Our Sundog pedal has a view inspired by the vista from our workshop window.
Every single part of the pedals we make is lovingly installed by hand by a husband and wife team of 2 and a shopdog called Bess who lets us know when the courier is here and features in the artwork every now and then.
Our only mission was to make something different, something fun, usable, rugged, durable, inspirational, and something that also looks cool.
Easy enough, right?
Thanks for reading. We’re glad you’re here.

The MP Promise:
All pedals are original circuits.
All pedals come with a 2 year RTB warranty
Our pedals will never use batteries. They’re outdated things that just leach heavy metals into the soil. As such, all pedals use the standard 2.1mm DC jack (centre negative)
We ship worldwide - shipping day is usually Thursday.

The journey for better tone starts here:
A gallery of select images. All our graphics and visuals are drawn, vectorised, perfected, then photographed in house. No AI, no shortcuts, no bullshit. Some of the sketches make it onto pedals, others go onto merch, sticker or plectrum designs that then go in the boxes.
